Brands That Make GAPS-Compliant Foods

Fresh is always best. But sometimes it can really save your sanity and help you not give up on GAPS to have a few pantry staples that are GAPS legal. When you’re always making meals sometimes having a jar of tomatoes you can dump in instead of having to chop them fresh can make all the difference. I know it did for me.

As a GAPS Coach, I would advise cutting zero corners, if at all possible, when in the Intro diet. These suggestions are more for full GAPS and when some healing has taken place. If possible, doing as much from scratch is always best. But let’s be real: life happens and sometimes it is nice to be able to grab a jar or a can or something and get that dinner together quicker.

So here are brands I have found over the years to be GAPS-compliant and legal and worth keeping in your pantry.

  1. Jovial tomatoes – These are in glass and one ingredient.
  2. Coconut Milk – This brand does not have guar gum, which is really important if you are on GAPS.
  3. Tomato Paste – One ingredient in glass.
  4. Dried Fruit – Choose organic and one ingredient options.
  5. Frozen Vegetables and Fruit – These are great options if things are not in season.
  6. Eden Navy Beans – These beans are great in a pinch. The company does soak them so they are a much better options than a non-soaked bean.
  7. Sprouted Nuts and Seeds and nut/seed butters – This company has great options to purchase to save time.
  8. Peanut butter – look for salt and peanuts only listed on the label. I always remember Becky Plotner mentioning the organic Costco peanut butter as a good option.
  9. Spaghetti sauce – There are actually a lot of options out there. Look for a no sugar added option and olive oil not vegetable oil. I have been able to find one at every store I’ve shopped at.
