GAPS Guidance: Products I’m Loving Lately

I am always on the hunt for less toxic products that work well for our family. I have found a few things that are GAPS compliant ingredient-wise.

P2 Probiotic Power – I have used these products for multiple years at this point. Each product contains soil based probiotics that help re-balance the body microbiome, and home environmental biome. P2 uses essential oils to add a smell to some of their products. I typically am not a fan of things with fragrance but these are mild and really lovely. My husband loves the body wash, I love the allergy, sinus relief spray, protective skin spray, all purpose cleaner and pet spray. I’ve tried almost everything they offer and have been really happy with their products. I’d highly recommend them.

Aleavia – Aleavia is a probiotic plant-based skin care line. I was super-hesitant to use anything on Raleigh when his eczema was raging. We have been using Aleavia’s products for a few years now and I absolutely love them. Raleigh uses the enzymatic body cleanse as a body soap and shampoo. The restore soothing mist spray is very gentle and nice on eczema-prone skin. I also personally love their lotions! The cranberry smell is to die for.

Branch Basics – I made my own laundry detergent for a long time but needed something more powerful. I have used BB for over 7 years now. I know there are mixed feelings on the company but if you are looking for a clean product that won’t aggravate eczema-prone skin then this is the one! Personally I have not tried other clean brands since finding BB because they work so well for us as a family.

Zebra – This is a newer find for us but I’m really liking it so far. Zebra is a nontoxic brand of toothpaste, deodorant and few other things. I made a remineralizing toothpaste for years for my kids. It worked well but I was looking for a good, nontoxic option to purchase. We initially used Risewell, which I liked, but decided to switch and move away from hydroxyapatite for a while. Zebra does not use hydroxyapatite. We currently use their toothpaste and I’ve been liking the mint flavor. I love the simple, black and white (hello, ZEBRA!) ingredients.

Primally Pure – Personally, this is my favorite nontoxic skincare. I use a lot of their products. Their deodorant is the best one I’ve found. Both of my kids use it. What I like is they do not use baking soda which can be more bothersome. The ingredients are simple and very nontoxic.

Active – Active skin repair is a nontoxic swap for triple antibiotic ointment. It has many uses and a wonderful product to have around. Check them out if you haven’t already.

I’d love to know of new nontoxic brands you’re loving! Please feel free to share in the comments below.
