Books I’m Currently Reading

I love to know what people are reading, especially in the health and wellness space. So I thought I’d share some of the books I’m currently trying to wade my way through. Some I have finished, others I’m cracking away…very slowly these days since I am now in my chauffeuring era with my teenage children.

I’ll link them to Amazon if you want to purchase.

Dark Calories by Catherine Shannahan – This is a must read all about vegetable oils and our health. Dr Shannahan also wrote Deep Nutrition which I highly recommend for those wanting to really learn about how to eat a nutrient-dense diet.

Lymph and Longevity – I think we all need to learn more about our lymphatic system. It is one of the most important functions to preventing disease in the body.

Ending the Eczema Epidemic – I have followed Dr Temple on Instagram for years. I think she has some great insights on healing eczema. I have found this book very interesting. I think there are multiple ways to go about healing Eczema and typically it is using multiple modalities (food, detoxes/cleanses, other types of “medicines” not of western origin, etc). Obviously, I’m a huge believer in GAPS for healing Eczema – I did it that way – but it would be short sighted of me to say its the only method.

Toxic Legacy – This one is timely considering all that is going “down” about glyphosate in the last few weeks. We cannot turn a blind eye to the multitudes of toxins plaguing our environment these days.

Fatal Conveniences – Still on the toxins train with this book. This is about toxins in everything from the cleaning supplies we use to the deodorant and makeup. This is an important read especially if you are new to this idea.

The Unexpected Legacy of Divorce – If you are a child of divorce this is quite an eye-opening read. Highly recommend.

The Body Keeps the Score – All about trauma and how the body holds onto it and remembers it. This is a heavy read.

The Anxious Generation – If you’re raising kids today this is worth a serious read.

The Forever Dog – We got our first dog a few years ago. We started him out on a raw food diet and have since pivoted a bit but this was a fun read about how to insure you have a healthy dog who lives a long time. If you’re a dog lover, you’ll love it.

Read any of these? I’d love to know your thoughts!
