Simple Full GAPS Meal Ideas

Getting started on GAPS can actually be easier than you’d think. There are quite a few meals that can translate easily to the full GAPS diet with a few tweaks – or sometimes no tweaks at all!

Here are some of the simplest meals made full GAPS:

  1. Taco Salad – bed of lettuce, ground beef or turkey seasoned with spices. Top with fresh tomato, avocado, black olives (check the ingredients), cheddar or Colby jack cheese and sour cream.
  2. Meatballs – I have found if you use a good, high quality beef the meatballs hold together just fine without breadcrumbs or even egg, if egg is an allergy. You can bake them or put them in the crock pot with marinara sauce. Look for a sauce without sugar or vegetable oils. Many out there are full GAPS legal.
  3. Pot roast – a classic. Sear your meat in tallow, add chopped carrots, celery and onion to the slow cooker. Add some meat stock and top with the roast. Season with your favorite herbs.
  4. Roasted Chicken – Another classic. I find lard makes the chicken skin taste the best!
  5. Slow cooker stew – a lot like the pot roast but mixes it up a bit.
  6. Chicken and vegetable soup – Toss in your favorite veggies, add some chicken from your stock and a nice helping of duck fat! Duck fat makes all soups taste better.
  7. Ground beef and vegetable soup – This was always a crowd pleaser.
  8. Pork chops – Baked or grilled is fine on the full GAPS diet with a side of roasted veggies.

GAPS meals can be really simple and really delicious. They can also come together very easily and quickly with minimal ingredients.
